After working retail for 2.5 years, I am excited to start working at Mercy Hospital South to gain hospital experience. This hospital is actually where I job shadowed when I was a senior in high school. At that time, it was St. Anthony's Medical Center; however, the statue of St. Anthony's is still there, so that is good.
Above is more information about the history of Mercy. At this moment, the part in Catherine's story where Father Armstrong dies resonates with me. COVID-19 has impacted so many people's lives. When struggles happened in her life, she decided to become a nun, so she could continue advocating for her community. COVID-19 has changed the way our Health Fairs are held, in-person to virtually (with the COVID Advocacy Exchange), but the mission of Educating Providers and Empowering Patients has stayed the same.
